Ceramic coating
Is a ceramic coating worth it?
It is worth it when you want gloss and an easier wash for the term you book. It is the wrong spend when you want rock chips stopped. That is film.
The term is the product.
Level 1 is a graphene coating, $479, or $579 on a large vehicle. It is 12–15 months of gloss and protection. It can be done mobile or at the shop, with no overnight cure.
Level 2 is a 5-year 9H coating, $899, or $1,199 large, registered to CARFAX for 5 years. Level 3 is marked most popular on the menu: a 10-year 10H coating, $1,199, or $1,499 large, registered to CARFAX for 10 years. Level 4 is two layers, $1,549, or $1,899 large, with an in-house lifetime warranty. CARFAX on Level 4 is 10 years, not lifetime.
Wax is a different bottle.
A wax sits on the paint until it wears off. The 3-month and 6-month wax on a detail package is that kind of product. A coating bonds after the paint is polished. They are not two prices for the same shine.
A bottle from the parts store is built to be mild and fragrant. The coating we install is mixed for the car in front of us, after the paint is clean. A sweet smell is not the same job.
What the warranty does not cover.
Levels 2, 3 and 4 cover coating failure, lost gloss or beading, oxidation on coated paint, and bird or bug etching if you remove it promptly. They do not cover scratches, swirls, rock chips, or a brush wash that mars the paint.
A missed annual inspection voids the warranty. The yearly wash is $270, or $320 large, unless The Detail Club already includes the topcoat.
Prep is included. A heavy correction is not.
Every coating level includes a hand wash, clay, iron decontamination, a machine gloss polish and a panel wipedown, so the coating bonds to clean paint.
If the scratches are deeper than that polish, 1-stage correction is $399, or $499 large, and 2-stage is $599, or $799 large. We look at the paint before we add it. Call or text (814) 680-2418.
